Scope of Work: Project included a full renovation of an existing roller skating facility (17,098 SF) transformed into a New Interior Climate Controlled Storage Unit Facility. Demolition of wood flooring, steel railing, interior walls, ceiling and fixtures.

New work entailed pouring over 13,000 SF of new concrete floor, which was polished and sealed, new fire protection system throughout, new electrical system and lighting upgrades, new entrance doors and facade, exterior building imaging and 181 interior metal storage units (13,348 SF) with security alarm systems and video surveillance throughout facility.

Project was successful, on schedule and within budget. Currently the project has added 181 more climate controlled storage units to the U-Haul Alvernon Heights Complex.

Scope of Work: Project included a complete renovation and addition to the existing kitchen and upgrades throughout the facility. All equipment and fixtures were replaced with new stainless steel equipment, fire suppression hood and make up air, stainless steel stovetops, ovens, sinks and prep tables.

The project was completed while still operating in business and took careful planning, scheduling and quick turnaround. Overall, the project was able to be completed with minimal disturbance to the operation of business and the kitchen was able to be re-opened for business with no conflicts or negative issues.

At the end of this project, the Pima County Health Department asked if they could utilize this project as an example for other restaurant owner’s on completing renovations to their kitchens. We gladly accepted and they continue to use it as an example to date.

Scope of Work: An existing 2,431 SF U-Haul facility was renovated to enlarge the showroom and work bay. It was updated to current U-Haul standards and building imaging.

Work included a new showroom, work bay area, restroom, plumbing, a new mechanical system and upgraded electrical service for the facility. Project was under construction while maintaining the store open for business, which made it challenging and required proper coordination. However, we were able to successfully complete the project on time and with minimal conflicts and loss of revenue to U-Haul.

Scope of Work: Project included a full renovation of an existing bowling alley facility (28,132 SF) transformed into a New Interior Climate Controlled Storage Unit Facility. Demolition of bowling lanes, wood flooring, interior walls, ceiling and fixtures, concrete and masonry walls/columns.

New work entailed pouring over 18,000 SF of new concrete floor, which was polished and sealed, new fire protection system throughout, 2 new restrooms, plumbing throughout, new mechanical system, new electrical system and lighting upgrades, new entrance doors and facade, exterior building imaging and 292 interior metal storage units (20,430 SF) with security alarm systems and video surveillance throughout facility.

Project was a huge success, on schedule, within budget and considered one of U-Haul International’s first climate controlled storage facility in Tucson, AZ utilizing an existing structure for complete renovation. A5 Des+Con was honorably public recognized and named U-Haul International’s preferred contactor of the year with the City of Tucson’s Chamber of Commerce.

Scope of Work: This project was a very unique and carefully coordinated tenant improvement. It was a complete and total renovation of a historic commercial adjoining building in the historic downtown 4th Avenue district. The renovation was approximately 3,896 SF, which included a new 2nd Floor within the existing facility. This project was a transformation of an existing retail building into a New Youth Facility and Business Office.

The scope of work included a large open community hall with a new performance stage, rehabilitation of two historic adobe walls, secure entry reception area, complete front entry facade, ADA improvements throughout, two unisex restrooms, ten offices (five downstairs and five upstairs), large conference room, full kitchen, laundry room, storages throughout, copy/work room, large multi-purpose room, new rear exterior patio area, all new mechanical systems, complete plumbing systems and upgrades to existing old sewer lines, electrical upgrades throughout, fire protection throughout, new foam roof system and security systems throughout.

The project was very successful and publicly advertised with many participating local public officials, several large leading business owners and, both, private and public organizations. Project was completed on time and within a limited budget. Completing construction on-time was extremely important in pre-planning for a highly anticipated open house with attendees from all parts of the world. So, it was very important and demanded a completed project to accommodate those traveling for the celebration event. We are very proud to have been part of such a great and highly publicized project!
